In November 2015, BRP inaugurated its completely new training centre in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. In this impressive 60 000 ft² building, the BRP training team will host technicians from all over the world for advanced training and certification on the manufacturer’s large product lineup.
In this state of the art training centre, forget the usual desk or traditional benches. BRP went for a setup as exciting as their products. A total of ten 90” workstations from Canadian manufacturer Metalia will serve as workbenches for the trainees. Each is equipped with a section of 30“ of high-capacity drawers (440 lb capacity per drawers) and two storage cabinets built with massive double-walled doors and an impressive one-piece aluminum handle with digital lock. A hardwood counter top covered with stainless steel, strong enough to receive a bench vice, protects the toolboxes and offers a clean and durable work surface.
The expert integrators from MSK Canada did the project design for the BRP training centre, specifying Metalia products for the classroom, the large part department and the adjacent workshop. In this room, Metalia drawers are integrated into high-capacity shelving from Canadian leader MetalWare. Drawers in shelving are a must have in any space optimization projects, offering clean and efficient storage for small parts while large items can be stored on shelves. The workshop is home to two huge 60” high modular storage cabinets, the hallmark of Metalia for 25 years, and serve as clean and safe storage for expensive parts and tools.
For Benoit Gagner, Worldwide Technical Training Coordinator for BRP, only Metalia matched their needs perfectly. While manufacturers of traditional tool storage systems offered non-adapted standard products, the experts at MSK Canada were able to configure the Metalia workstations to meet the unique needs of the BRP training centre and beat the competitors on durability, functionality and price.
